Premier League Player of the Week, Saka shines in Arsenal comeback

Bukayo Saka, at 23 years old, was named Premier League Player of the Week after playing a key role in Arsenal’s 3-1 win against Southampton. He was involved in all three of Arsenal’s goals, helping his team bounce back from being 1-0 down. Saka earned a high player rating of 9.1 for his performance, scoring one goal and assisting two others.

Saka’s first big moment came when he passed the ball to Kai Havertz, who scored to level the game after Southampton lost possession in midfield. About 10 minutes later, Saka delivered a perfect cross that Gabriel Martinelli finished to give Arsenal the lead. Saka then sealed the victory by scoring Arsenal’s third goal in the 88th minute.

This game added two more assists to Saka’s season tally, bringing him to seven, which puts him ahead of his closest rival, Cole Palmer. Saka will now join the England team for their Nations League matches against Greece and Finland before Arsenal’s next league game against Bournemouth on October 19th.
