Club CareerEarly Years and Mallorca
Jacob Ramsey joined the Aston Villa youth academy at the age of six. During his early years, he was often one of the smallest players in his age group, so he trained in boxing with his father, a former professional boxer, to build strength.
On 15 January 2019, Ramsey signed his first professional contract with Aston Villa. He gained attention during the 2018–19 FA Youth Cup, scoring two goals in every round until the Fifth Round, where he received a red card in a match against AFC Bournemouth U18s. While suspended, Ramsey trained with the first team due to injuries in the squad. Shortly after, at age 17, he was on the bench for a Championship match against Brentford and made his professional debut three days later as a substitute against West Bromwich Albion.
