Preview

Luton entered the season with high hopes after their spirited effort in the Premier League, expecting to transition smoothly back into the EFL and contend for a spot in the top half of the table. However, Rob Edwards now faces the challenge of revitalizing a team that has struggled, failing to win in four matches across all competitions and managing to score just two goals during that stretch.

While Luton have shown some improvement since their opening 4-1 home defeat to Burnley, they have yet to find consistent form. They did well to hold Portsmouth to a goalless draw despite playing with 10 men for the entire second half after their goalkeeper was sent off. Still, a 1-0 loss to Preston North End was followed by a 1-1 draw against QPR in the EFL Cup, where they were ultimately defeated 4-1 in a penalty shootout.

Although Edwards continues to have the backing of the fans at Kenilworth Road, he is under pressure to secure a victory soon, ideally on Friday. A win would be enough to lift Luton to at least 12th place in the standings.

On the other hand, QPR are on a four-match unbeaten run in all competitions, buoyed by their progression through two rounds of the EFL Cup. However, they are still searching for their first win in the Championship. Despite earning one of their two points through a spirited comeback against another recently relegated Premier League side, Sheffield United, their performances at Loftus Road have been disappointing. Marti Cifuentes watched his side suffer a 3-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion and then fail to capitalize on a numerical advantage against Plymouth Argyle, where they ended up with a frustrating 1-1 draw, despite playing against 10 men for over an hour and nine men in added time.

QPR come into this match having failed to keep a clean sheet in five consecutive games, though they have managed to score in each of those contests.
