Roma is interested to sign Eric Bailly before the end of the month

Roma is reportedly interested in signing Manchester United center-back Eric Bailly before the January transfer window closes.

The 27-year-old has only made seven appearances for the Red Devils during the 2021-22 campaign and has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.

AC Milan reportedly remains firm in the image of the Ivory Coast international, but according to Foot Mercato, there is also genuine interest from Roma.

The report claims that the Italian club’s head coach, Jose Mourinho, remains a big fan of Bailly, who came to Man United when the Portuguese were in charge.

The defender has only made four Premier League appearances for the Red Devils this season, with Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, and Victor Lindelof all ahead of him in the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Bailly only signed a new contract with the 20-time English champions last April, and his current terms at the club run until June 2024, with the option of a further year.
