Tottenham Hotspur History
The first significant achievement in Tottenham’s history came in the 1900–01 season when the club beat Sheffield United 2–2 3–1 in the FA Cup final. Two decades later, Tottenham Hotspur once again won the cup of the world’s oldest football tournament, this time with a 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton. In the 1950-51 season, the club won the Premier League for the first time.
In the 60s, the Spurs lived a great stage. In 1960-61 and 1961-62, they twice won the FA Cup, beating Leicester 2-0 and Burnley 3-1 in sequence. Also in the 1960-61 season, the club won the Premier League for the second time. In 1963, Tottenham became European champions by winning the former European Cup. In 1966-67 they beat Chelsea 2-1 in the FA Cup final, reaching their fifth title in this tournament.
In the 1970s and 1980s, Tottenham Hotspur also had good times, winning two more European Cups in the UEFA Cup, currently the UEFA Europa League in 1971-72 and 1983-84. Furthermore, they also won the FA Cup twice in the 1980-81 and 1981-82 seasons and also two League Cup cups in 1970-71 and 1972-73. In the 1990-91 season, Spurs clinched their eighth FA Cup title. Champions League 2010-11
In the 2009-10 season, Tottenham again won a place to play in the UEFA Champions League after a long time. Tottenham with Pochettino
In May 2014, Tottenham announced Argentine Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager. The club had been discredited after the departures of Luka Modrić in 2012 and Gareth Bale the following year, both to Real Madrid.
However, Pochetttino quickly transformed the Tottenham Hotspur team, raising its level within the English scene and also in Europe.

On April 3, 2019, the English club inaugurated a new stadium, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with a capacity of 62,062 people, having received 59,315 fans in its premiere match, Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace. Construction was due to finish in the second half of 2018, at a cost of around £400 million.
In this project, a partnership with the city was entered, which was aimed at the construction of houses, a hotel, a hospital, the renovation of local stations, and various other changes, all financed by the Spurs. Shirt sponsorship in English football was first adopted by non-league club Kettering Town F.C. in 1976 despite being banned by the FA. The FA soon lifted the ban, and this practice spread to major clubs when sponsored shirts were allowed in non-televised games in 1979, and also in televised games in 1983.
In December 1983, after the club had been listed on the London Stock Exchange. , Holsten became the first commercial sponsor logo to appear on a Spurs jersey. Since 2014, AIA has been the main shirt sponsor, initially in a deal worth more than £16 million annually, which increased to £40 to £45 million per year in 2019 in an eight-year deal lasting until 2027.
