Crypto.com signs as an official sponsor of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

FIFA Adopts Crypto.com as a Sponsor in the World Cup 2022

The world waited four years for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the biggest sporting event in Qatar. This is the first time that a World Cup has been held in a Middle Eastern country. It has brought a lot of sponsorship. One that has caught the attention of many is the Crypto.com sponsorship.

Crypto.com is a legitimate and trusted crypto exchange company founded in June 2016 by Kris Marszalek (current CEO of the company). Crypto.com is one of the first crypto firms to enable crypto payments and crypto exchanges and was instrumental in the widespread adoption of digital coins.

Crypto.com and the FIFA World Cup

Over the years, crypto.com has emerged as a powerhouse in the crypto world and now supports trading, investing, stacking, vaults, NFTs and more on its cryptocurrency exchange. What sets them apart is that they offer over 250 cryptocurrencies, low fees, and discounts (CROs) for their coin holders.

This has led crypto.com to add the World Cup 2022 to its impressive sponsorship deals in the sports world. The world of crypto and sports has been getting closer to each other over the last few years as crypto exchanges look at major sporting events to expose their brands, and no sporting event is bigger than the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

They expect a record number of spectators in stadiums with an impressive international following as an additional incentive. Crypto.com is known globally as one of the leading crypto trading exchanges and has a customer base of over 10 million.

What’s in it for the Fans?

Crypto.com stated that they award exclusive merchandise to new and existing members of the crypto.com platform; Crypto.com also plans to give their users access to FIFA World Cup 2022 matches. Fifa said that in the 2018 FIFA WC, it had 3.57 billion people watching the matches, with a whopping 1.12 billion tuning in for the final match. The co-founder of crypto.com, Kris Marszalek, had the following to say:

“We could not be more excited to sponsor the FIFA World Cup, one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world, and to drive further awareness of Crypto.com globally.”
He further added:

“Through our partnership with FIFA, we will continue to use our platform in innovative ways so that Crypto.com can power the future of world-class sports and fan experiences around the world.”

Is Sport Adopting Crypto Globally?

Crypto.com has always been interested in betting on sports to build brand awareness. They have spent $700 million just to get the naming rights to the NBA’s LA Lakers. Crypto.com also paid for a 30-second ad for Super Bowl LVI. The World Cup sponsorship deal will not be the first football deal for them.

Crypto.com has its hands on a few jars right now. Furthermore, they will not be the only crypto platform sponsor at the prestigious event. Binance will also attend, but the title of the exclusive crypto trading platform will reside with crypto.com.

Final Word

The World Cup in Qatar is evident from the growing influence that cryptocurrency has on sports and football. The sport is developing a strong relationship with crypto companies and the crypto ecosystem. They also have their hooks in the betting markets if you want to bet on Qatar FIFA 2022 with whatever cryptocurrency you prefer.

The fusion of the world of sports and the world of cryptocurrencies can only mean good things. Cryptocurrency investors and football fans from all over the world can enjoy the best of both worlds.
