Start of a job
When she was six years old, Zelem began playing football. She joined the Manchester United Girls’ Centre of Excellence when she was eight. Emma Fletcher, her youth teacher, said Zelem had a great attitude and a strong desire to learn and understand the game.
Liverpool
United didn’t have a proper setup for Zelem, so he moved to Liverpool in 2013. She was in the Liverpool team for the first time when they lost 3–0 to Arsenal on August 3, 2013, but she did not play.
Zelem broke her collarbone while playing for England under-19 on April 11, 2014. She missed the start of the 2014 FA WSL season because of this. After getting over an illness, she played for the first time with the senior team on June 29, 2014.
Nina Frausing-Pedersen replaced her in the 58th minute of a 1–0 loss to Arsenal in the FA WSL. A week later, Zelem scored her first goals as an adult in a 7–1 Continental Cup win over Durham. She scored two goals, and Lucy Bronze helped her with them.
