She began her football journey with Castleknock Celtic at the youth level and honed her goalkeeping skills at Matt Gregg’s Just4Keepers coaching school in Blanchardstown. McAloon later joined Peamount United, where she played from 2016 to 2022, contributing to the team’s domestic successes, including Women’s National League titles in 2019 and 2020. In January 2022, she signed with Durham Women FC, making notable appearances such as the penalty shootout victory over Manchester United in the 2022–23 FA Women’s League Cup. Following the expiration of her contract with Durham in July 2024, McAloon joined Burnley FC.

Start of a job
McAloon was a young player for Castleknock Celtic and went to Blanchardstown to learn from Matt Gregg at his Just4Keepers coaching school.
United Peamount
From 2016 to 2022, McAloon played for Peamount United. In 2017, after losing to Shelbourne in the Women’s National League Cup, her team came in second. Her team beat Wexford Youths in 2018 to win the WNL Cup.
In 2018, Paramount signed Niamh Reid Burke. After that, she and McAloon both played goalkeeper for the club. The club won the Women’s National League in 2019, and McAloon was named to the WNL Team of the Season. However, Reid Burke played in the decisive 8–1 win over Cork City and the 2019 FAI Cup final loss to Wexford Youths.
The two kept switching who started in goal as Peamount United won the League and Cup “double” in 2020. Reid Burke was chosen to play for Peamount when they beat Cork City 6–0 in the FAI Women’s Cup Final in 2020 and when they played Glasgow City in the UEFA Women’s Champions League in November and lost on penalties after a 0–0 draw.
In 2021, the goalkeepers continued to switch places. MCALOON WAS PICKED TO START when FK Spartak Subotica beat them 5–2 in the UWCL in August 2021.
Durham
