Early career
After his performances in Vidago, Gonçalves caught the attention of the G.D. Chaves from his hometown and joined the club’s youth system at the age of 11. Two years later, Jorge Pires, whose father was a friend of Pedro’s father, took him to the S.C. Braga. , generally traveling an hour for each training session.
