Schools to close during FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022
Schools in Qatar will remain closed during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, scheduled for November 21-December 18, according to a ministry decision issued on Monday regarding the daily schedule of schools for the 2022-2023 school year.
The decision was issued by Education and Higher Education Minister Buthaina bint Ali al-Jabr al-Nuaimi, the Qatari News Agency reported.
In accordance with the provisions of the decision, staff will begin work for the 2022-2023 school year in schools on August 14, 2022, and students will start school on August 16.
Depending on the Department’s decision, schools may be closed from November 20 to December 22 for the semester holiday. The second semester will begin on December 25.
The decision specifies the start and end dates for all events, programs, and activities, including exams and vacations, as well as the start and end dates for each semester.
