Club Career
In Santo Tirso, Vitinha started playing football at Povoa Lanhoso in 2007 before becoming a part of the youth team at FC Porto two years later at the age of 11. Vitinha first made his LigaPro debut within the reserves team on the 11th of August 2019, in a match with Sporting da Covilha. Also, he was part of the team of Porto which was crowned this year’s UEFA Youth League.
On January 28, 2021, Vitinha was the first player to make an appearance in the first team and was an alternative to Wilson Manafa in the 61st minute in a game with Gil Vicente. The Brazilian made eight appearances when the club claimed their league championship.
Loan to Wolves 2020-21
On September 9, the 9th of September, 2020 Vitinha was loaned for a full season with English Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers. Wolverhampton Wanderers had an option to convert the loan into an ongoing deal at the end for EUR20 million, given that Porto was required to loan Vitinha in accordance with the UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.
