Barcelona’s Pedri and Ferran Torres test positive for COVID-19

The Barcelona couple, Pedri and Ferran Torres tested positive for COVID-19, the Spanish club announced.

A COVID-19 outbreak at the club left Barcelona without ten players for Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Real Mallorca: Sergio Dest, Philippe Coutinho, Ez Abde, Ousmane Dembélé, Gavi, Samuel Umtiti, Clement Lenglet, Jordi Alba, Dani Alves, and Alejandro Balde.

Since then, Alba and Alves have returned to training after negative tests.

However, Barcelona’s resources have not been stretched further due to both Pedri and Torres not being able to play for the club.

Pedri has been out due to a muscle injury since August, while Torres is not yet registered.

Torres only arrived from Manchester City last week, but he will only be able to join the squad if Barcelona sells players or reduces the salaries of others.
