Boss Alfred Schreuder disagree for Leeds job

Alfred Schreuder is disagrees to take over as the new head coach of Leeds United. Schreuder was at Elland Road yesterday left the club one point above the relegation zone.

Leeds have so far been frustrated in their search to find a successor to Jesse Marsh as their primary targets have been unavailable.

Schreuder, who succeeded Erik ten Hag at Ajax, is available after being sacked last month but Sky Sports News understands he is no longer in the running as Leeds continue to hold talks with various candidates.

The 50-year-old Dutchman was one of a number of possible short-term candidates in contention for the role.

Schreuder watched Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Manchester United at Elland Road and had been shown around the club, including the training ground.

He spoke to directors at the club but has flown back to the Netherlands, with Leeds now discussing other options.

Schreuder replaced Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag at Ajax in the summer but was sacked in January.

Leeds, who sacked Jesse Marsch in February after a poor run of form, next play at 18th-placed Everton on Saturday.

Under 21-coach Michael Skubala has been in temporary charge at Elland Road since Marsh was dismissed after a 1-0 defeat by Nottingham Forest.
