Hirao was born on December 31, 1996, in Matsudo. In 2014, she moved to Urawa Reds from JFA Academy Fukushima. She was the main goalie for many games, and the club won the championship in its first season. But after Sakiko Ikeda joined the team in 2015, she had fewer chances to play. She went to Albirex Niigata in 2018.
International career
Hirao was picked for the Japan U-17 national team for the 2012 U-17 Women’s World Cup in September 2012. She was 15 years old at the time. She played three games as a starting goalkeeper. In November 2016, she was chosen for the 2016 U-20 Women’s World Cup team for Japan. She played five games, and Japan came in third.
