Zürich

Ricardo Rodriguez, who has a Spanish father and a Chilean mother with Basque ancestry, was born in Spain. In 2001, he started playing football at the prestigious young club FC Schwamendingen, and in 2002, at the age of 11, he joined FC Zürich’s youth program.

At the age of 16, he was promoted to the senior team and sat on the bench as Zürich fell to NK Maribor 2-3 in the first leg of their Champions League third-round matchup on July 29, 2009.

VfL Wolfsburg

2013–14 season
