Club Career

América

Lainez was recruited by talent scout Ángel González along with his brother Mauro. Mauro decided to enter the Pachuca quarry, while Diego chose to enter Club América.

On March 1, 2017, Lainez made his competitive debut for América in the Copa MX group stage match against Santos Laguna. Three days later he made his league debut against León, becoming one of the club’s youngest players to debut with the first team at the age of 16.
