The previous clubs Glik played for include Piast Gliwice from 2008 to 2010, Palermo from 2010 to 2011, Torino from 2011 to 2016, and Monaco from 2017 to 2020, the latter two of which he was appointed captain of the team. Early Life
Kamil Glik’s paternal grandfather, Walter Glück, was from Upper Silesia and a German citizen, who fought in World War II as a Wehrmacht soldier. After the war, he stayed in what later became Poland. Therefore, Glik also has German citizenship in addition to his Polish citizenship.
In his German documents, his surname is written in the original German version Glück instead of the Polonized version Glik. Despite this, Glik has repeatedly said that he feels no connection to Germany and considers himself 100% Polish. He has a daughter with his wife Marta, whom he has known since elementary school.

Club Career
Glik began his career in the youth ranks of MOSiR Jastrzębie Zdrój and WSP Wodzisław Śląski, then moved on loan to LKS Silesia Lubomir. In 2006, he moved from WSP Wodzisław Śląski to Horadada in Spain, where he was noticed by Real Madrid and registered in the club’s “C” team. There he played for two seasons, until 2008.
On August 6, 2008, he signed a four-year contract with Piast Gliwice of the Polish first division. He debuted on August 30, 2008, when he came on as a substitute. Subsequently, he became a regular in the team’s starting eleven. He played 26 games in his first season with the club and scored 2 goals in 28 games in the 2009-10 season.
International career
Glik made 14 appearances and scored three goals for the Poland under-21s. In 2010, he made his debut for the senior national team, having originally been called up without making a match debut on December 18, 2009.
Glik was the first Piast Gliwice player to be called up for the Polish national team. He made his debut on January 20, 2010, in the Copa del Rey against Thailand, scoring 43 minutes in his debut, he won 3-1.
On October 17, 2012, he scored the equalizing goal in a 2014 World Cup qualifying match against England.
