About Kazakhstan National Football Team
The Kazakhstan national football team represents Kazakhstan in men’s international football and is governed by the Kazakhstan Football Federation. They broke away from the Soviet Union national football team after independence in 1991 and joined the Central Asian Football Federation of the Asian Football Confederation. After failing to qualify for the 1998 and 2002 FIFA World Cups, they joined UEFA, but have yet to qualify for a FIFA World Cup or UEFA European Championship.

It serves as the national stadium for the Kazakhstan national football team. Astana Arena is the largest stadium in the country and was built between 2006 and 2009 at a cost of $185 million and officially opened on July 3, 2009.
