Saipa
He began working with Saipa at the youth levels. Coach Engin Firat introduced a number of unknown young players to Iranian football, including Akhbari. In the final game of the 2013–14 Iran Pro League against Saba Qom, he started his first game for Saipa.
Tractor
For a period of two years, Akhbari worked for Tractor to fulfill his conscription. He took over as Tractor’s starting goalkeeper, helping the team advance to the AFC Champions League Round of 16. Akhbari was called up to the national squad due to his strong performances with Tractor.
Return to Tractor
