Club Career
Born in Melilla, Munir graduated from the Academy of CG Goyu Ryu and debuted as a senior with the AD Ceuta subsidiary in 2008, in the regional leagues. On January 29 of the following year, he signed for another subsidiary, UD Almería B of the Third Division, but appeared with moderation and was later released.
Munir joined UD Melilla in the summer of 2009, initially being assigned to the reserve team and definitively promoted to the main squad of Second Division B the following year. He acted mainly as a substitute for Pedro Dorronsoro in his first two seasons at the club, subsequently becoming a regular.
On June 17, 2014, Munir signed a two-year contract with CD Numancia of the Second Division. On 10 September he made his professional debut, starting in a 1–1 away draw against CD Leganés in the second round of the Copa del Rey and also saving two penalties during the shootout.
Munir made his second division debut on October 19, 2014, playing the full 90 minutes in a 2–0 loss against UD Las Palmas. He subsequently acted as first choice for the rest of the campaign, beating Biel Ribas.
Munir left the Soria team at the end of 2017-18, after losing his starting job to Aitor Fernández. On July 19, 2018, he signed for Málaga CF, also in the Second Division.
From 2020 to 2022, Munir competed in the Turkish Süper Lig with Hatayspor. On June 10, 2022, he agreed to a two-year contract at Saudi Arabian club Al Wehda FC.
International career
Of Moroccan descent, Munir switched his allegiance to his national team in 2014. On March 9, 2015, he was called up by manager Ezzaki Badou for a friendly against Uruguay to be played at the end of the month, and made his debut in the 0–1 loss.
On 29 December 2016, Munir was included in Hervé Renard’s 23-man squad for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and started the entire tournament ahead of Yassine Bounou. He was also selected for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, making his first appearance in the competition on 15 June in a 1–0 group stage loss to Iran.
