Coffey was an all-American and five-time “Region 1 team” member at Match-Fit Academy and New York Soccer Club. At the Master’s School, she was team MVP all four years and captain for two. High school player of the year three times, she scored 100 goals.
Boston College
In 2017, Coffey joined Boston College Eagles soccer. As a freshman, she led the team in assists and points. She was her team’s co-rookie and Boston College’s Freshman Scholar-Athlete. As a sophomore, she helped the team reach the first round of the 2018 NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Tournament, their first since 2015.
The Hermann Trophy semi-finalist led the squad in goals and assists. She was an All-ACC first-teamer, ACC midfielder of the year, and United Soccer Coaches first-team All-American. The Portland Thorns FC
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NCAA gave all student-athletes an extra year of eligibility. Coffey decided not to enter the 2021 NWSL Draft because she didn’t know what her future would be like. She was still put in the draught, though, and Portland Thorns FC picked her with the 12th overall pick in the second round.
But in the end, she chose to stay at Penn State and play soccer for another year. The Portland Thorns signed Coffey to a two-year deal on January 7, 2022. She played her first game for the team on March 18, 2022, in the NWSL Challenge Cup. She played the whole game, which was a 1-1 draw against OL Reign away from home. She played in her first NWSL regular season game on April 30, 2022. It was a home win over the Kansas City Current by a score of 3-0.

Coffey played for the United States youth teams when he was 18, 19, and 20 years old. She went to six training camps and played in two international games with the under-18 team.
