The Town of Swindon
He signed with Swindon Town in 2013, and the club’s youth program provided him with opportunities to advance. He made his debut with the first team on the final day of the 2016–17 season as a 69th-minute substitute during Swindon’s 3–0 loss away to Charlton Athletic.
He signed professional terms with the club in March 2017, and he made his debut with the club at that time.
During the subsequent 2017–18 season, Twine participated in two loan stints with Chippenham Town of the National League South before being recalled for a second time by Swindon in March of 2018.
The club exercised an option it had at the end of the season to extend its contract for an additional period of time.
The Dons of Milton Keynes
After turning down an offer of a new contract from Swindon, Twine joined League One team Milton Keynes Dons on a free transfer on June 8, 2021. He signed a long-term contract with the Dons.
As a result of the player’s youth (he was under 24 years old), Swindon were later granted compensation, the amount of which was determined by a tribunal to be £300,000, in addition to a 20% sell-on clause for any future transfer.
When he made his first appearance in the league on August 7, 2021, away at Bolton Wanderers, he scored his first goal for the club, a free-kick that tied the game 3–3.
On the 28th of September 2021, Twine scored the first hat trick of his professional career in a 3–3 draw at home against Fleetwood Town. Two of the goals were long-range efforts, including a free-kick that Twine took himself.
After contributing seven goals and making four appearances during the month of November 2021, Twine was honoured with the title of EFL League One Player of the Month on December 10, 2021.
Burnley
