Norwich has won the League Cup twice, in 1962 and 1985. The club’s highest-ever league finish came in the 1992-93 season when they finished third in the Premier League. Norwich participated in the UEFA Cup once, in the 1993-94 season, where they were beaten in the third round, but along the way became the only English club to defeat German side Bayern Munich at the Olympic Stadium in Munich.
The club has been nicknamed the Canaries for the history of birds breeding in the area, which is represented in the team’s yellow and green kits. The fan song “On the Ball, City” is the oldest football chant in the world, written in the 1890s and still sung today.

Carrow Road is an association football stadium located in Norwich, Norfolk, England, and is the home of EFL Championship side Norwich City. The stadium is located to the east of the city, close to Norwich railway station and the River Wensum.

Norwich City FC originally played at Newmarket Road before moving to The Nest. When The Nest was deemed unsuitable for the size of the crowds it attracted, the Carrow Road ground, named for the road it stands on, was purpose-built by Norwich in just 82 days and opened on 31 August 1935.
The stadium has been modified and upgraded several times during its history, notably after a fire destroyed the old City Stand in 1984. Having once accommodated standing fans, the ground has had seating for all since 1992.
The current capacity of the land is 27,359. The stadium’s record attendance since it was converted to an all-seater arena is 27,137, set during a Premier League match against Newcastle United on 2 April 2016. On days when fans could stand in the stands, Carrow Road saw a crowd of 43,984 when it hosted Leicester City for an FA Cup game in 1963.
