Adriana Leon Early Life

Leon was born in Mississauga, Ontario. She grew up in Maple and moved to King City with her family when she was 16. Her extended family owns most of the stock in Leon’s, a Canadian furniture store. Leon used to figure skate before he started playing ice hockey at age 10. He played minor hockey for seven years, all the way up to the Midget AA level. In her last season, she won both the Provincial Women’s Hockey League title and a gold medal at the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association provincial championships with a Toronto Jr.

Boston Bruins (2013)

Leon was one of 16 NWSL Player Allocation players financed by the Canadian federations before the 2013 season. Boston Breakers received her. Leon made her professional debut in the 84th minute of a 2–1 win away at Western New York Flash on April 27, 2013. On June 1, 2013, she scored her maiden goal in a 5–1 Sky Blue FC loss.

Chicago red stars

Leon was moved to the Chicago Red Stars on June 29, 2013, for Carmelina Moscato. She played 35 games and scored one goal in three seasons.

WNY Flash

Western New York Flash traded Whitney Engen and a fourth-round pick in the 2017 NWSL College Draft for Leon, Abby Erceg, and the No. 9 overall pick in the 2016 NWSL College Draft from Chicago in November 2015. Seattle Reign

Leon was moved to Seattle Reign FC on June 12, 2018, for a fourth-round pick in the 2019 NWSL College Draft. She made six appearances for Seattle, including one start, before the club decided not to retain her NWSL rights for 2019.

West Ham

Leon joined West Ham United midway through their inaugural Women’s Super League season on January 12, 2019. Leon reconnected with Matt Beard, her Boston head coach, in her debut season, scoring three goals, including two in a 3–1 FA Cup win over Blackburn Rovers.

In 2013, she scored three goals in 16 appearances for Canada. Leon played in her first big international competition, Canada’s 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
