Club Career

Revelation at the Girondins de Bordeaux

In the young sections of the Girondins, he evolves as in his previous club, as an attacker then at 14-15 years old, he moves to midfield, to a position of number 10. In U18, he becomes the number 8, a midfielder.

He signed his first professional contract with his club at the age of 17 on November 10, 2017. In 2018, he obtained his scientific baccalaureate.

It was during the following season that he made his first steps with the first team. He played his first meeting with Bordeaux on July 26, 2018, against FK Ventspils, a match counting for the second qualifying round of the Europa League. That day, he was established in a three-man midfield alongside Jaroslav Plašil and Lukas Lerager, and his team won (0-1). He scored his first pro goal on August 9, in the third qualifying round for the Europa League, against FK Mariupol (1-3 victory for the Girondins). Tchouaméni’s first Ligue 1 appearance came three days later, when Bordeaux lost 2-0 at home to RC Strasbourg.

Confirmation at AS Monaco

On January 29, 2020, AS Monaco announced its transfer with the signing of a four-and-a-half-year contract. He played his first match in his new colors on February 1, 2020, against Nîmes Olympique in the league. Monaco lost with a score of three goals to one that day. Unfortunately for him, he does not have the confidence of Robert Moreno, who came to replace Leonardo Jardim during the winter break. With the under-17s, he participated in the European Under-17 Championship in 2017. During this competition, he played three matches. France lost in the quarter-finals to Spain. France lost in the round of 16, again to Spain.

With the under-19s, Tchouaméni played a total of four games in 2018 for as many starts.

In 2021, his good performances with AS Monaco allowed him to join the France Espoirs team to compete in Euro 2021. During the group stage of Euro 2021, he took part in his team’s three matches. French Espoirs coach Sylvain Ripoll selected him to play in the final phase of the Euro Espoirs which begins on May 31, 2021, in the Netherlands, rewarding his very successful season with Monaco.

On August 26, 2021, he was selected for France A team by Didier Deschamps, to play the matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, and Finland, counting for the qualifications for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
