Barcelona will negotiate with PSG for Dembele but set transfer deadline

Reports suggest that Barcelona is ready to begin negotiations with PSG concerning a potential transfer for Ousmane Dembele. However, they’ve indicated to the French team that there’s only a five-day window for an agreement to be reached.

It appears that Dembele has already settled personal terms with PSG, but he prefers that the two clubs find common ground instead of resorting to triggering his release clause.

Spanish outlet, Mundo Deportivo, indicates that Barcelona has set a five-day ultimatum for PSG to finalize an agreement. Otherwise, the only avenue for Dembele’s departure would be the activation of his new €100 million release clause.

Uncertainty hangs over the proceedings as it’s unclear what amount PSG is prepared to offer to secure Dembele before the end of the transfer period.

Moreover, Dembele has not yet renewed his contract with Barcelona, which means he could depart without a transfer fee next year if the situation remains unchanged.

More details are expected to emerge in the coming hours. Barcelona is scheduled to travel to Las Vegas for their next pre-season friendly match against AC Milan. All attention will be focused on whether Dembele boards the plane. If he does not, speculation will undoubtedly mount that he is indeed set to join Luis Enrique’s squad.
