Manchester United is open to Cristiano Ronaldo leaving this summer

Manchester United is reportedly willing to let Cristiano Ronaldo leave the club this summer if he decides to move away from Old Trafford.

The 37-year-old has been in impressive scoring form for the Red Devils during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 15 times in 27 appearances in all competitions, as well as contributing three assists.

Ronaldo has a contract at Old Trafford until June 2023, with the option of a further year, but there have been claims that he could leave this summer if the club fails to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

A recent report also claimed that the Portuguese international is struggling with the pace of the Premier League this season, which could lead to an exit this summer.

According to The Mirror, Man United will not stand in the striker’s way if he wishes to move away from the 20-time English champions before next season.

The report claims that Ronaldo signed a £480,000-a-week contract last summer upon his return to the Juventus club, making him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.

Man United are struggling to finish in the top four of the Premier League table, while next week they will head to Atletico Madrid for the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.
