Benito Villamarin Stadium History

Anbal González lvarez-Ossorio, a Spanish architect, had an initial design for a stadium for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition as early as 1912. The executive committee commissioned architect Antonio Illanes del Río to complete the design in 1923. Several locations were considered for the new stadium when finally commissioner Cruz Conde chose the current location. The technical study for its construction was carried out by Manuel María Smith, who designed the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao in 1913. Construction work began in 1923 and was finally completed at the end of 1928.

In addition to serving as the location for Real Betis Balompié home matches, Benito Villamarn Stadium serves as the nerve centre for all events involving the Green-and-White squad. The stadium is always being updated, and it currently has all of the modern amenities that are necessary for members who come to see first team matches. There is a wide selection of seating options available for purchase, and the Stadium can accommodate a total of more than 60,270 people. Tickets can be purchased online. The fans are given the option of selecting the section of the stadium from which they desire to see the game and cheer on their team.

Along the entire length of the playing field, there is a significant amount of demand in purchasing tickets for one of the various VIP Boxes or Premium Zones. There are 21 boxes in the Gol Norte section and 25 boxes in the Fondo (East Stand) section (North Stand). They are all equipped with wonderful features and come in a variety of sizes, which can respectively accommodate 13, 15, or 19 guests.
