Education City Stadium is a football stadium located in Al Rayyan, Qatar, and was built as a venue in time for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup held in Qatar. The stadium is located within several university campuses in the Qatar Foundation Education City.

Education City Stadium History
On 30 September 2019, FIFA announced that Education City would host the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup third-place match and final, with the tournament taking place in Qatar. The stadium would have also hosted Liverpool‘s first game in the semi-finals, but on 7 December 2019, the official opening of Education City Stadium was postponed until early 2020. Therefore, Liverpool’s first game, the final, and the match for third place were moved. to the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha.
The 2020 FIFA Club World Cup was once again held in Qatar. The City of Education Stadium was one of the venues. A second-round match, a semi-final match, the match for third place, and the final between Bayern Munich and UANL were held at the stadium. In 2020, Education City Stadium hosted the East and West Zone matches of the 2020 AFC Champions League.
The stadium hosted five matches during the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup.

Opening match
The stadium was inaugurated in June 2020 during a virtual event that paid tribute to frontline healthcare workers during the coronavirus pandemic.
The precinct already features Education City Golf Club, which hosted the Qatar Masters – a European Tour event – for the first time in 2020. During legacy mode, the precinct will feature a retail area, conference center, health, and wellness facility, and two schools.

The parking space is located near the stadium. These car parks will open 4 hours before the start of the match and will close 1.5 hours after the final whistle. There will also be accessible parking options. Get there early, as parking lots fill up fast.

Legacy and sustainability
The modular upper level of the stadium will be removed and the seats will be donated to a country that lacks sports infrastructure.
The stadium will become a sports center for the local community, including students and teachers.
The stadium is the first Qatar 2022 tournament venue to achieve a five-star design-build rating from the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS).
Education City Stadium will feature state-of-the-art cooling technology for the benefit of fans, players, and officials.
