Arsenal
In the 2015-16 season, Malen began playing for Arsenal’s young teams in the Youth Premier League, the FA Youth Cup, and the UEFA Youth League. During his first season with the Gunners, he began to show off his amazing potential. He scored in Arsenal’s FA Youth Cup quarter-final win over Coventry City on penalties.
PSV
In late August 2017, Arsenal sold Malen to PSV Eindhoven.
Malen went on to play for Jong PSV as a winger. Malen scored twice in Jong PSV’s 6-0 thrashing of Telstar on November 24. On November 27, he scored again in PSV II’s 3-0 triumph over FC Oss.

Malen was born in the Netherlands and is of Surinamese heritage. Malen played throughout the 2016 Under 17 Euros in Azerbaijan, where the Oranje reached the semi-finals. He later played for the Netherlands under-18 squad.
He was also named to the Dutch squad for the 2017 UEFA European Under-19 Championship in December 2016. Malen equalised for the Dutch in the 86th minute of an U18 game against Austria in March 2017, resulting in a 1-1 tie.
