Fluminense
Kayky, who was born in Rio de Janeiro to a Fluminense family, was initially turned down by the club for a place at the academy. Mangueira had already filled the spaces. He scored a hattrick during a 5-3 victory over Fluminense in his first game. This prompted Flu to sign him immediately. He joined their under-9 futsal team at first. During his development, he switched to football and was a key unit in the sub-17 Campeonato Brasileiro Sub-17.
Kayky was promoted to the main squad in the 2021 campaign. He made his professional debut as a substitute for Miguel Silveira, a fellow youth graduate, on March 4, 2019. In a 1-2 Campeonato Carioca away defeat against Resende, Kayky played the first-half.
On 6 April, Kayky scored his first professional goal. He scored the opener against Macae in a 4-0 away win. Manchester City
Multiple media outlets reported in April 2021 that Kayky and Metinho, City’s teammate, had agreed to move to Manchester City. Kayky’s deal would have cost EUR10 million plus 15 variables. The agreement was confirmed on 23 April. The transfer would take place in January 2022. In August, Kayky was announced to join the company immediately, instead of joining in January.
Fluminense would keep a portion of future sales and add-ons. Kayky made his City debut on 7 January 2022 as a replacement for Cole Palmer in a 4-1 home win against League Two side Swindon Town, in the FA Cup.
