Manchester United offer Ronald Araujo £8.4m a Year salary
Manchester United has reportedly offered Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo an £8.4m a year deal to move to Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old has been a vital player for his Catalan club during the 2021-22 campaign, making 25 appearances in all competitions, including 17 La Liga outings.
However, Araujo has entered the last 18 months of his contract at Camp Nou, and recently there has been a lot of speculation surrounding his future.
Man United is reportedly making a “huge offer” for the Uruguayan international in the hope of bringing him to the club before the 2022-23 campaign.
According to journalist Dario Montero, in statements to El Chiringuito, the 20-time English champions have offered the defender a salary of 8.4 million pounds sterling per year.
Montero assures that Barcelona could not match that figure due to its economic problems, although it is believed that the Catalan team is calm with the situation.
Barcelona manager Xavi recently said the club wants to extend Araujo’s contract “as soon as possible”.
