Manchester United youngsters could leave on deadline day

It is the last day of the January transfer window and a number of Man Utd youngsters could still leave the club.

Manchester United could allow a number of youth team players to leave the club on the deadline day of the January transfer window.

MEN Sport reported last week that up to four youngsters were being considered for loan departures, of which one has since been officially announced.

Reece Devine joined Walsall on Friday and made his debut for the struggling League Two over the weekend as they lost 1-0 against ten-man Bristol Rovers.

The 20-year-old Devine had been on loan at St. Johnstone earlier in the season but was called up amid a lack of regular playing time for the Scottish Premiership side.

Youth striker D’Mani Mellor is also expected to leave the club before the end of the window with League Two side Crawley Town leading the race to sign him.

Mellor has attracted a lot of interest from the Football League this month after his previous loan deal with Salford City was officially canceled.

Young defender Will Fish has also received attention after his loan to Stockport was terminated this month, but it is understood that he will now remain at United for the rest of the season.

Fish, 18, will play for the club’s Under-23 team in the coming weeks and will also have the opportunity to train with the first team.

A couple of other youth players are also drawing interest as the clock ticks down on deadline day, though nothing is advanced at this stage.
