Matt Ingram Club Career

Wycombe Wanderers

John Hampden Grammar School was where Ingram received his education after being born in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. While he was still a first-year scholar, he was called up to the first-team squad for their match against Shrewsbury Town on September 25, 2010, in League Two. He appeared on the substitutes’ bench for that match.

In addition, he was chosen to participate in a goalkeeping training camp with the England national team in January 2011.

He was the only player from a League Two club to be given this opportunity. [the verification was unsuccessful] After completing a work experience placement at Lewes, a team competing in the Isthmian League Premier Division, in the early months of 2012, Ingram went on to sign his first professional contract in May of the same year, which was subsequently extended to run until the summer of 2015.

Following loan stints with Conference South club Hayes & Yeading United and Conference North club Oxford City during the 2012–13 season, Ingram made his first-team debut for Tottenham Hotspur against Accrington Stanley on March 29, 2013. This came after Tottenham Hotspur recalled loanee goalkeeper Jordan Archer from Oxford City. Hayes & Yeading United played in the Conference South. Oxford City played in the Conference North.

Wycombe’s first-choice goalkeeper to start the 2013–14 season was Ingram, who played for Wycombe. Wycombe’s first game of the season was a win over Morecambe by a score of 1-0, and Ingram recorded a shutout in goal for the Buckinghamshire club.

The Football League Awards voters for the 2014–15 season chose Ingram as the goalkeeper who had the best overall performance in League Two.

Queens Park Rangers

On January 22, 2016, Ingram agreed to terms with the Championship team Queens Park Rangers for a contract that would last for four and a half years and pay an unknown sum. On November 15, 2018, he returned to Wycombe Wanderers on an emergency loan for seven days. He provided coverage for the injured Ryan Allsop and Yves Ma-Kalambay.

City of Hull

On the 25th of June 2019, Ingram signed a three-year contract with Hull City, which included an option for an additional year at a price that was not disclosed. Ingram will play in the Championship for Hull City. In the first round of the EFL Cup, he made his debut, and the team won 3–0 on the road against Tranmere Rovers.

On May 1, 2022, Ingram began a last-minute loan with Championship team Luton Town to cover for the injured James Shea. The loan was for seven days. The next day, he made his debut for Luton United, playing against Fulham, who was leading the league then. Luton ended up losing the match 7–0.

Due to Luton’s advancement to the play-off stage, the loan period was extended to May 18; however, this meant that Ingram would have to postpone his honeymoon. He participated in both legs of the play-off semi-final, which Huddersfield Town won by a score of 2–1 overall after defeating Luton Town in both legs.

On the 18th of May, 2022, Hull decided to extend Ingram’s contract by one year by exercising an option for an additional year. On June 16th, he put pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him with the club for the next three years, with the option of an additional year.
