Lalengmawia was born in Aizawl, Mizoram. Her father works as a butcher. His parents had always supported his passion for soccer and were there for him at all times. In 2015, his parents asked him to skip trying out for the 2017 U-17 World Cup team in Mizoram and focus on his Class X board exams. Youth career
Lalengmawia started playing soccer at the tender age of 6. His first big break came when he was selected to play for his school’s team for the Subroto U14 Cup, an international inter-school soccer tournament held annually in New Delhi, India.
He spent a couple of years in the football academy of the Regional Sports Training Center in Kolasib, Mizoram and trained with HC Zarzoliana. In January 2016, he attended the 2017 U-17 World Cup trials that were held in Mizoram and thus joined the AIFF Elite Academy in Goa.
Indian Arrows
Season 2017-18
On 29 November 2017, Lalengmawia was selected to play for the Indian Arrows, a team owned by the All India Football Federation which would consist of players under the age of 20 from India to give them playing time.
