New York Stadium is a football stadium in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. It is sponsored by AESSEAL, so it is also called AESSEAL New York Stadium. Opened in July 2012, it is the home of Rotherham United.
Its name was inspired by the company that previously occupied the site for nearly 150 years, and made the famous red fire hydrants for New York City. Several matches were held there during the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022.

New York Stadium History
Rotherham United announced their intention to build a new community stadium when they moved from Millmoor to the Don Valley Stadium in May 2008 after a dispute with ground owner Ken Booth. In January 2010, the club bought the former site of the Guest and Chrimes Foundry for use in the new stadium. Scheme planning permission for the stadium was granted in November 2010, with the first images sketched soon after.
The name of the stadium was announced as ‘New York Stadium’ on December 19, 2011, chosen ahead of ‘The Foundry’ and “The Waterfront Stadium.” The reason for the name is that the area of land on which the stadium stands is called ‘New York’ and it was thought that it would be better to name the stadium after its history and/or where it is located, such as nearby stadiums. Bramall. Lane and Hillsborough.
Also guests and Chrimes used to make fire hydrants for New York City. President Tony Stewart also hopes the name could attract investment from New York City or beyond, as the New York Yankees president recently said he wanted to invest in an English soccer team.
