In July of 2017, Phil Foden was included in Manchester City’s squad for their preseason tour in the United States, where he impressed in a 0-2 defeat to Manchester United and was a part of a 4-1 win against Real Madrid. After a few appearances as a bench player at the beginning of the 2017-18 season Foden, first made their debut for Manchester City debut on 21 November 2017 in the Champions League game against Feyenoord and was substituted at the end of 75 minutes to replace Yaya Toure. 2018–19 season
