Club Career
FC Nordsjaelland
Nelsson made his debut for FC Nordsjælland on 12 September 2016. Having started on the bench, he replaced Mathias Jensen in the 87th minute of a 3–1 loss to AGF in the Danish Superliga. On 14 October 2016, Nelsson signed his first professional contract and was promoted to the first team squad. He made 23 league appearances for FCN in the 2016-17 season.
Nelsson played the first two league games in midfield but was later retrained as a center-back. He also became a regular starter for the 2017-18 season.
At the age of 19 and after a breakout spell in the first half of the 2017-18 season, Nelsson was called up to the Denmark B national team by Åge Hareide, so that she could look forward to it and consider picking him for the A. National selection. In the winter break of 2017-18, he changed his jersey number from 36 to 4.
