Club Career
Abdelkarim Hassan graduated from Aspire Academy in 2011.
He was the youngest player to appear in the 2011 AFC Champions League at age 17, coming off the bench against Esteghlal. Subsequently, his team was the champion of the Champions League that year. He was awarded Young Player of the Year in the 2012–13 Qatar Stars League. In June 2017 it was announced that Al Sadd had loaned him out to Eupen of the Belgian First Division A.
Abdelkarim played at the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup, where he scored in a 3-1 victory over Hienghène Sport. He later scored in a 3-2 second-round loss against C.F. Monterey. Al-Sadd eventually finished in fifth place.

Abdelkarim scored a goal against the UAE U20 in the 10th International Youth Friendship Tournament.
In a friendly match against the Malaysian U-23 team on June 17, 2012, Abdelkarim caused a massive melee between the two teams after a two-footed lunge on Mohd Arif in the 43rd minute. He was duly shown a card red for her defiance. Later, a Malaysian player, Nazmi Faiz, ran halfway up the field to confront him and punched him. Being 5 inches shorter than Abdelkarim, Nazmi’s punch turned into nothing more than a shove to her chest. Nazmi Faiz received a red card while Qatar lost 2-0.[10]

He was the youngest player to appear in the preliminary squad for the 2011 Asian Cup at the age of 17 years and 123 days. He scored Qatar’s only goal against Malaysia in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers to secure Qatar an Asian Cup berth. He also scored a goal in Qatar’s 4-1 victory against Yemen in qualifying.
