About Barbados National Football Team
The Barbados national football team, nicknamed the Bajan Tridents, is the national association football team of Barbados and is controlled by the Barbados Football Association. He has never qualified for a major international tournament. They came close to qualifying for the 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup, as they hosted the Caribbean Cup final that acted as a Gold Cup qualifier, but finished fourth of the four teams.
In 2001, they surprised many by reaching the semi-final round of the 2002 World Cup Qualifiers. In the first game of this round, they posted a shock 2-1 victory over Costa Rica but lost the remaining five games. In 2004, Barbados earned a surprising 1-1 draw at home to Northern Ireland.
