The stadium is located in the Empoli sports district on Viale delle Olimpiadi.
Inaugurated on September 12, 1965, the camp was dedicated to Carlo Castellani, a former soccer player born in nearby Montelupo Fiorentino, who died prematurely after being deported to the Mauthausen concentration camp.
It is made up of two grandstands or grandstands and two curves with a total capacity of 16,284 spectators. La Curva Sud was recently renovated and the older structures were replaced. The Municipality of Empoli and Banca di Cambiano have financed the renovations. The stadium is also equipped with a running track for the long jump and a running track.

Carlo Castellani Stadium History
The Stadio Carlo Castellani was built between 1963 and 1965. It was officially inaugurated on September 12, 1965, although it originally consisted of only one covered stand. Like the previous Empoli stadium, the new stadium was named after former player Carlo Castellani, who died in a Nazi camp during World War II.
