Stadium 974, earlier known as Ras Abu Aboud Stadium, is one of the newly built playing venues for the 2022 World Cup.

The stadium is in Doha, Qatar. Opened on November 30, 2021, it is a temporary venue made from 974 recycled shipping containers that will host matches during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, after which it will be dismantled. It is the first temporary venue in the history of the FIFA World Cup.

Ras Abu Aboud Stadium History

The stadium was initially announced under the name Ras Abu Aboud Stadium. During a launch event on November 20, 2021, the venue was officially renamed Stadium 974.

It hosted its first match on November 30, 2021, on the opening day of the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup, between the United Arab Emirates and Syria. The stadium hosted five matches during the tournament.

Ticket booking is started for the Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022, Qatar is hosting this time the world’s most popular event in their very own style. All tickets will be sold on an online basis only. One can get the tickets on the basis of first come first get.

There are two types of Tickets available for the Fans

  1. For International Fans
  2. Residents of Qatar

For anyone who is outside the country can book the tickets, Arrange the accommodation, and then apply the digital Hayya card to enter the stadium & Qatar.

The ticket prices for Stadium 974 are not so high but they will go high in the last few days as the match comes to a near.

For the quarter-final match, the ticket price for Stadium 974 is approx 1200 USD and for the Group stage matches, the ticket price for any stadium is between 200 USD to 2000 USD. Match tickets for Qatar Residents are very cheap but they need to produce valid documents to watch the match.

Parking

There will be a large parking area for fans and local transport. The stadium will have a square shape that covers the seats with shade.

Map/Location

Ras Abu Aboud Stadium is located on the shore of the Gulf in the east of Doha near the Port and Hamad International Airport. It is the most centrally located stadium of the World Cup, a few kilometres away from the eastern end of the Corniche and less than two kilometres away from the National Museum of Qatar.

The stadium could be walked to from the eastern side of central Doha in 30 to 40 minutes though bear in mind that Doha is not a pedestrian-friendly city.

Metro station Ras Abu Aboud is closest to the stadium, about a kilometre away, or a 15-minute walk. It is the last stop of the Gold line that runs through central Doha but also connects with the Red and Green lines.
