South Korea Women’s National Football Team History
1949–2002: The beginning
Less than a year after the Government of the Republic of Korea was established in 1948, the first official women’s football matches were held in Seoul on June 28 and 29, 1949, as part of the National National Sports Games and Female While female basketball and volleyball won public recognition in games, football was seen inappropriate for women and unattractive for the public.
