About India National Football Team
The India national football team represents India in international football and is governed by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The team is affiliated with FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
The Indian team, once considered one of the best teams in Asia, had its golden age during the 1950s and early 1960s. During this period, India won gold at the 1951 and 1962 Asian Games, and finished fourth at the 1956 Summer Olympics. India thus became the first Asian nation to reach the semi-final of a major tournament organized by FIFA.
India has never participated in the FIFA World Cup, although it did qualify by default for the 1950 FIFA World Cup in Brazil after all the other nations in its qualifying group withdrew.

In 2002, the Indian Football Federation signed an agreement with the German manufacturer Adidas to produce the kit for India. The first kit made by Adidas was completely white. After four years with Adidas, the AIFF signed a seven-year agreement with the American company Nike on February 27, 2006.
