Asisat Oshoala Club Career

London: 2015–2016

On January 23, 2015, Oshoala moved to England to play for Liverpool in the Women’s Super League. Matt Beard, the club’s boss, said that she was “one of the best young players in the world.” Even though there were rumors that other teams were interested in her, she was very happy to join Liverpool. She was the first person from Africa to play in England’s top women’s league.

Even though she missed two months of the 2015 season because of a knee injury, Oshoala scored three goals in the nine games she did play, helping Liverpool finish in seventh place.
