Manchester United planning for Paul Pogba departure this summer

Manchester United is reportedly planning to have Paul Pogba leave Old Trafford this summer despite suggestions the midfielder could still sign a new contract.

The French international’s contract with the Red Devils is due to expire at the end of June, and the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain continue to be credited with an interest in his services.

A recent report claimed that Pogba is currently happy at Man United under new interim head coach Ralf Rangnick and could be set to extend his stay at the club.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the World Cup winner is ‘more optimistic’, but the 20-time English champions are still preparing for his departure at the end of June.

The report claims that Man United plans to bring a new central midfielder to Old Trafford this summer as a direct replacement for Pogba.

The 28-year-old, who recently returned from a thigh problem, scored once and provided eight assists in 17 appearances at club level during the 2021-22 campaign.

Pogba is reportedly open to offers from other Premier League teams this summer, with Manchester City among the clubs previously credited with an interest in his services.
