Club Career
Benfica B
Rúben Dias began his professional career at the neighborhood bar Estrela da Amadora after being introduced to it by a close relative. Dias began the game as a striker before converting to defense when his team was down by two goals.
Prior to enrolling in Benfica’s youth program in 2008, he played for the junior team’s central defense until 2015. He began his career as a midfielder. He made his professional debut with Benfica B in a 2015–16 LigaPro game against Chaves on September 30 of the same year.

Rúben Dias made his first-team debut against Boavista in a Primeira Liga game on September 16, 2017. After two months of strong performances, including two games in the Champions League versus Manchester United, he needed surgery for appendicitis, which sidelined him for a month.
