Jean-Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (German pronunciation: [ɛˈʀɪk maksˈɪm ˈtʃʊ.pøː ˈmɔ.tɪŋ]; born 23 March 1989) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich. Born in Germany, he plays for the Cameroon national team.

Early Career

Choupo-Moting was born in Hamburg to a German mother and a Cameroonian father and started playing football at a young age. He played for the youth teams of Teutonia 05, Altona 93 and FC St. Pauli before joining Hamburger SV in 2004. He played semi-pro football for Hamburger SV II in the Regionalliga Nord before breaking into the first team in August 2007.
