Real Madrid is one of the most successful football clubs in the world and has had many talented goalkeepers throughout its history.

The top goalkeepers of all time are represented by some of the major clubs, like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United. Above the legendary Richard Kingson, Mendy is considered one of the greatest African goalkeepers. The most outstanding goalie to ever represent Real Madrid is Casillas. Are other people present? Here are some of the best Real Madrid goalkeepers of all time:

1. Iker Casillas (Spain)

Iker Casillas is a Madrid legend and the greatest player in Real Madrid and Spanish football history. He joined the club at the age of nine and donned the Whites jersey for the next 25 years. During that time, he established himself as one of the club’s all-time greats, earning the respect, affection, and admiration of Madrid fans.

He made his first team debut on September 12, 1999, at the San Mamés, and went on to participate in 725 professional matches, winning 19 trophies. Aside from those victories, he also won a World Cup and two European Championships with Spain’s first squad.

Madrid fans will not ever miss the images of their captain lifting those championships, or his spectacular saves. His saves have helped Real Madrid towards many victories, including the La Novena final against Bayer Leverkusen. He was named to the FIFA FIFPro World XI five times and was awarded the greatest goalie in the world five times by the IFFHS. He also has one Bravo Award and one Zamora Trophy in his trophy collection. His distinguished sporting career has earned him the Duke of Asturias Trophy for Athletics, the Royal Award of Sports Merit, and the Gold Medal of the Community of Madrid.

2. Ricardo Zamora (Spain)

Zamora, Ricardo (Spain) Ricardo Zamora was a great goalkeeper for Espaol, Madrid, and Real Madrid, where he led Los Blancos to win their first La Liga trophy in 1932. The next year, he won the domestic title again, followed by the end of Spanish Cups in 1935 and 1936, the former in which Zamora’s shot-stopping heroics helped 10-man Madrid defeat Barcelona 2-1.

La Liga established the highest goalie prize after Zamora, the “Zamora trophy,” in his honor. Zamora’s distinctive in-game look of a skull and a jumper set the tone for goalie attire for many years to come.

3. Rogelio Dominguez (Argentina)

Rogelio Dominguez and Antonio Carrizo both played at the same time. He played 59 times for Argentina. He did not play in the 1958 World Cup Finals when he traveled to Real Madrid in 1957, and Argentina can not choose players from other countries. He was a member of Argentina’s World Cup team in 1962. He earned 2 European Cups with Real Madrid, with Alfredo Di Stefano. He had played for Sporting Club in Argentina before joining Real Madrid.

4. Keylor Navas (Costa Rica)

Real Madrid signed the Costa Rican for €10 million in 2014 to replace legendary keeper Iker Casillas. Navas made 162 starts for Los Blancos, including La Liga as well as making the outstanding saves that led to three straight Champions League victories. With Los Blancos, he won a total of twelve trophies. During the 2017-18 season, UEFA named him the best goalkeeper. In his 106 caps for Costa Rica, he has also been named CONCACAF Player of the Year twice.

Navas began his professional career with Deportivo Saprissa in his native Costa Rica before moving to Spain to play for Levante in 2011. He then signed with Real Madrid in 2014, where he had a successful tenure, winning three Champions League titles in a row in 2016, 2017, 2018 and also helping Madrid to win one La Liga (2016-17). He was also named the best goalkeeper of the UEFA Champions League for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons.

5. Juan Alonso (Spain)

Juan Alonso helped them win the European Cup in 1956, 1957, and 1958. He appeared twice for Spain’s national squad. During the 1954-55 season, Alonso got the Ricardo Zamora Trophy. At the end of his career, he played a few games for Real Madrid’s secondary squad, which then competed in the second level as AD Plus Ultra.
