20 teams contest the league in its current season, including the top 17 teams from the 2020-21 season and three promoted from the 2020-21 Second Division. Espanyol and Mallorca were promoted directly, and Rayo Vallecano won the promotion play-off.

When will the La Liga 2022-23 season finish?

The 2022 World Cup final will take place from November 21 to December 18.

The 2021-22 La Liga season resumes 11 days after the World Cup final, on December 29.

Then, the season will be played until the end until the last day which falls on June 4, 2023. All 10 games on the last day of the season, as always, will be played simultaneously.

The 20 La Liga teams are sponsored by nine different clothing brands. The same amount as last season. Adidas, Joma, Kappa, Kelme, Macron, New Balance, Nike, Puma, and Umbro are represented on Spanish fields this season.

Nike supplies the most clubs with six. The American brand sponsors the defending champion Atlético de Madrid, Barcelona, ​​​​Granada, and Seville. They also added Elche and promoted Mallorca this season.
